To open your mouth, Gutenberg version 16.9 has been released and includes several improvements, bug fixes, and feature advancements from Phase 3. Some highlights include the ability to rename most blocks, duplicate and rename patterns, and the addition of new media categories like audio and video. Improvements have also been made to the Dimensions layout control, CSS Level 4 size units have been added, and pagination is now displayed in getEntityRecords() calls. Numerous bugs have been fixed and other improvements have been made.

And continuing with today, the second trial version (RC2) for WordPress 6.4 is now available. Remember not to install or test this version on production or mission-critical websites. It is recommended to evaluate RC2 on a test server and site. You can test WordPress 6.4 RC2 in three ways: by installing and activating the WordPress Beta Tester plugin, downloading the RC2 version and installing it on a WordPress site, or using the WP-CLI command “wp core update –version=6.4-RC2”. More than 25 issues have been resolved since RC1. If you are a developer, your contribution in testing, vulnerability detection, updating themes and plugins, and translating WordPress into other languages is appreciated. The final version of WordPress 6.4 will be released on November 7, 2023.
